Little Otter Canal Boat

Meet the new otter wooden doll family who live on the river in a beautiful canal boat called "Malardeau", named after their favourite mallard duck, who sits proudly at the Bow end. This houseboat is Tenderleaf's new take on the classic dolls house that is brimming with imaginative play. 

The roof of this doll's house boat is removable, and the cabin can be lifted out for more space during playtime. There are many accessories within this set, designed especially to support language development, emotional awareness, and story telling activities with young children.

Doll characters Suzy, Skipper and Smudge are included in this set, along side; a wood burning stove, matchbox set of drawers, jam jar lid table, 3 bottle tops, 3 knitted sleeping bags, row of vegetables, flowerpot, coffee pot and jam pot.

The accessories included in this set resemble real life items which have been borrowed by these little river residents, re-purposing them to decorate their home. Very sustainable indeed! 

All the wooden characters have their names printed underneath and are scaled to the same size as the other Merrywood Tales collections; Sailaway Boat, Sam's Beach Hut, the Secret Meadow Shepherds Hut, Woodland Taxi and Swifty Bird, for example, making a great addition to this range of open-ended play collection. 

Made from sustainable rubber wood and responsibly sourced plywood, coloured with soft non-toxic colours for a contemporary style.

Made From

Tenderleaf uses top-quality reclaimed rubberwood. It is solid, smooth to the touch and looks lovely, which is why we let the natural wood grain show through in so many of our designs. We also use high grade birch plywood which if left its natural colour will have a matte coating applied to protect it.

All the paint colours are non toxic and so safe for little ones and the wood is formaldehyde free.

Before any of our designs go into production, they are rigorously tested – they are fun to play with and completely safe and durable.
