Collection: EMU Australia

EMU Australia has maintained its roots and is often copied but never bettered. It all started in Jackson's Tannery in 1948 on the Geelong coast road next to the Atlantic Ocean and it's still there. Their designs were inspired by the original "Ugly Boot" - hence "ugg" - that surfers made from sheepskin fleeces to warm their feet when they came out of freezing winter waters. Their mission remains to keep feet warm and dry in ultimate comfort.

When one of EMU's US retailers changed hands in 1995 that company registered the brand UGG and started sourcing look alike boots from China, using sheepskin bought on the world market. EMU chose to continue it's production in Australia under it's own name and to this day only uses Australian sheepskin, leather and Merino wool, which are world renowned as the finest for their super-natural qualities including next-to-skin softness, as well as being renewable, biodegradable and 100% natural.

EMU Australia has always supported independent retailers around the world and invested in waterproof technology. Our range of Kids' and Ladies' EMU boots are either water resistant or fully waterproof.
